The Design Process

If you have a concept or a sketch of a floor plan ARD can design your new home for you. ARD has developed many successful home designs from just a list of requirements and pictures of home styles. Once we have established a Client/ Designer relationship, our first step is to go walk the property and the building site to get a feel for the lay of the land. This is essential for optimum placement and orientation of your new home to access the view and accommodate the grade. We can determine on which side of your home the garage should go and anticipate retaining walls and where windows and doors will go in the foundation wall.

ARD covers the Southeast United States.

After your consultation we will send you a design proposal which will:

• List the various drawings in a set of ARD construction drawings
• Quote our fee and payment schedule
• Explain the general procedure in arriving at a finished new home design
• State the time frame for the first preliminaries

Our objective is to achieve a new residential design for you, which balances your needs and desires with budget and site requirements.

We guarantee you a pleasurable design experience and would very much like to help you create the home of your dreams. ARD home plan designs are complete construction drawings and meet the requirements of VA/FHA insuring offices, insurance companies and other mortgage money sources. Each design utilizes standard parts and lumber dimensions to greatest advantage in order to help reduce costs. Attention is given to wall space for furniture arrangements and convenient traffic flow.

For an additional fee once the design is established, we can put the design on the photo realistic 20 20 Technologies Cad.

This same general procedure is also followed for designing plans for your remodeling project. The drawings will vary with the extent of the project.
